You work hard on your content, but it just sits there. Nobody reads it. Nobody shares it. It’s like talking to an empty room.

Well, I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. And honestly? It wasn’t that complicated. I made some simple changes, and now my website is actually showing up on Google. Real people are finding my content.

What Google Really Wants (It’s Simpler Than You Think)

Here’s the truth: Google just wants to give people helpful answers.

When someone searches for “how to Learn SEO Tips,” Google wants to show them the best Tips about SEO. So ask yourself: Is my content actually helpful? Would a real person find this useful?

I stopped trying to trick Google and started focusing on helping real people. That’s when things changed for me.

Make Your Website Fast

My website was loading really slowly. I didn’t realize it effect for my rankings.

Here’s what I did:

  • Compressed my images (made them smaller files)
  • Deleted plugins I wasn’t using

Switched to better hosting .

  • My site now loads faster than before. Google noticed, and my rankings goes top.

How to check your speed:

Go to Google Page Speed Insights and type in your website. It’ll tell you where’s the problem.

Make Sure Your Site Works on Phones

Most people search on their phones now, not computers.

I grabbed my phone and checked my website. The text was tiny. Buttons were hard to tap. Some images didn’t even show up properly.

I fixed it, and suddenly more people started visiting my site.

Write Better Content:

Instead of writing-Does SEO actually improve website traffic? I started writing ” For 30 days, I applied SEO techniques—here’s how it changed my website’s rankings. “See the difference? One is generic. One is real and interesting.

People connect with real stories. Google can tell the difference too. I’m Fathimathul Febin, and I started putting my actual experiences in my writing. It made a huge difference.

Nobody wants to read large content of text. I learned to:

  • Use short paragraphs (2-3 sentences max)
  • Add pictures to break things up
  • Use bullet points for lists
  • Put the important stuff first

My articles are easier to read now, so people actually finish them.

Update Your Old Posts

I went back to articles I wrote six months ago and updated them.

I added new information, fixed mistakes, and made them better. Then I changed the date to show they’re updated for 2025.

Three of my old articles jumped from page 2 to page 1 on Google. Just from updating them. Seriously, this works.

Use Keywords :

Keywords are the words people type into Google. You need to use them in your content.

Now I just use keywords naturally. If I’m writing about SEO, I mention “SEO” a few times where it makes sense. That’s it.

How to find keywords:

Type your topic into Google and see what it suggests. Those suggestions are what people actually search for.

Get Other Websites to Link to You

When other websites link to your content, Google thinks “okay, this must be good content.”

But how do you get links? Here’s what worked for me is Write Really Good Content. When I published my best, most helpful article, people naturally started linking to it.

Fix the Technical Stuff :

I was confused of “technical SEO” at first. Sounded complicated. But it’s really not. By clearing  all the small mistakes, it’s resolved.

Get an SSL Certificate

Your website should say “https” not “http.” That little padlock icon in the browser? That’s what this is about. Most hosting companies give you this for free now. If yours doesn’t, switch hosting companies.

Submit Your Sitemap to Google

A sitemap is just a list of all your pages. It helps Google find your content. Most website platforms (like WordPress) create this automatically. You just need to submit it to Google Search Console.

Google Search Console is a free tool from Google. Sign up for it. It shows you how your site is doing in search results and tells you if there are problems.

Fix Broken Links

I had links on my site that went to pages that don’t exist anymore. Google doesn’t like that.

I used a free tool called Broken Link Checker to find them all. Then I fixed them. Took me an hour. Rankings improved.

Be Patient :

Here’s the hard truth: SEO takes time.

If you start today and give up in two weeks, you’ll never see results. But if you stick with it for three to six months, you’ll be amazed at what happens.

What I Learned:

SEO isn’t some secret magic . It’s straightforward:

  1. Write helpful content for real people.
  2. Make your website fast and easy to use.
  3. Get other websites to link to you.
  4. Fix technical problems.
  5. Be patient and keep going.

Start Today:

Pick one thing from this list and do it today. Not tomorrow. Today.

Update one old article. Fix your site speed. Write one really helpful piece of content.

Just start. Because in six months, you’ll either have a website getting traffic, or you’ll be exactly where you are right now wishing you had started.

The choice is yours. And honestly? You can do this. If I figured it out, anyone can.

Good luck!
